The Cytology Proficiency Improvement Act of 2007 (H.R.1237) has passed the House and has been referred to the Senate. On 4/9/2008, the resolution was referred to Senate committee and then referred after review to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
This resolution asserts to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide revised standards for quality assurance in screening and evaluation of gynecologic cytology preparations, and for other purposes. It was originally introduced on 2/28/07 by Rep Bart Gordon and currently has 175 cosponsors.
